Opening programme:
18:00 Doors open
18:30 Artist talk with Lise Linnert and Jannik Abel, moderated by actor, producer and theatre educator Guri Glans

Linnert works with needle, thread and textile in a practice that moves between personal experience, relational processes and social issues. Abel works with knife, axe, wood and bone, often through physically demanding processes in the forest. Both artists work by hand, and in both practices time, repetition and material transformation are central.

In “Håndtere”, Linnert presents “Hver dag” (2022–2025), a work that developed during a period in which she daily collected and worked with used medical gauze from caring for her husband Harald. Abel presents “DE HELLIGE: Gudinnene” (2026–ongoing), a body of work comprising more than 200 sculptures in wood, bone and stone. The project takes early goddess figures as a point of departure, alongside forms the artist finds in nature. The work is presented for the first time at Trøndelag senter for samtidskunst.

Between the two projects is a collaborative work: a large table containing personal objects, photographs, sound recordings, tools and materials from the artists’ working processes. Things that would usually remain outside the exhibition space here become part of the exhibition.

The title “Håndtere” refers both to working with the hands and to the process of working through something over time.

The artists have received support for the exhibition through Regionale utstillingsmidler from Kunstsentrene i Norge.
The artist talk is supported by Norske Kunstforeninger and Arts Council Norway.

Exhibition period: 08.10–08.11.2026
