Trondheim Open 2026

The festival runs from 13 to 22 November. At Trøndelag Center for Contemporary Art (TSSK), you can visit the Art Market, pick up a festival catalogue, enjoy a cup of coffee, and plan the rest of your festival route.

Everyone is warmly invited to the official opening of Trondheim Open 2026 and the Art Market on Friday, 13 November!

Art Market 2026
The Art Market is a sales exhibition bringing together nearly 150 artworks by festival artists in one location. The exhibition features paintings, drawings, sculptures, textile art, and much more. The selection reflects the breadth of the local art scene in Trondheim, from emerging students to established artists.

The Art Market is the festival’s most visited event and a great place to discover the local art scene – and to buy a work of art. If you see something you like, it is easy to find out more about the artist and where their studio is located. Perhaps you’ll visit them during the festival’s open studios? All proceeds from sales go directly to the artists.

Trondheim Open takes place every other year, offering an insight into what artists in the region are working on. The festival serves as a meeting place for the Trøndelag art scene and a hub connecting artists, audiences, and cultural organisations. Its aim is to showcase and communicate professional artistic practice in Trondheim and Trøndelag to a broad audience.

The festival is organised by the professional associations Trøndelag Visual Artists (TBK) and Norwegian Association of Arts and Crafts Mid-Norway (NKM). Artist Inga Skålnes is the festival’s managing director and project manager.

More festival activities
In addition to the Art Market at Trøndelag Center for Contemporary Art, the festival programme includes workshops with artists, sales exhibitions, art walks, artist talks, and days when artists open the doors to their studios and workshops to the public.

The programme for Trondheim Open 2026 is currently being developed and will be published continuously in the lead-up to the festival. All events are free and open to the public.
