Collective listening pantea

You are cordially invited to a collaborative listening session led by NTNU’s guest sound artist and writer, pantea (City, St George’s, University of London). The event is free and open to all, but space is limited and free registration is required at pantea@posteo.net by August 25. Tea will be shared.

Join us for an intimate listening session led by pantea around a shared pot of tea — Iranian tea blended with plants foraged in Norway. In the session, we will weave together sounds and poems from our shared space in Trondheim, transmitting voices and recordings back into the Khamoosh community — a kind of collective radio, built from fragments of sound, memory, and reflection.

As we share conversations and sonic memories across geographies, through streaming and communal listening, we rethink our stage, and look for commonality of feeling, synchronicities, and asynchronicities.

You are welcome to bring your own sound from your everyday life, or a poem in any language, on a USB drive or sent by email in advance to pantea@posteo.net

About pantea

pantea is a cultural worker, creator, and writer from Iran engaging with how sounds translate ecological connections, collaborative survival, and the unheard. Their experience spans listening, walking, writing, cooking, and creating things, connections, and forms of hospitality.

More recently, they have been working on ways of connecting struggles across different spheres within their praxis. They are involved in the Khamoosh community, dedicated to archiving Iranian sonic heritage through the sounds of everyday life. They are currently pursuing a practice-based PhD in Music at City, St George’s, University of London.

About Khamoosh

Khamoosh is a creative community that mediates conservation and restoration by exploring the sonic heritage of Iran through recorded sounds of everyday life; sounds less heard or even silenced.

This process-based work aims to build an interactive archive of sounds and to exchange, resurrect, and decolonize these sounds using artistic methods. Our methodology is guided by an ongoing process of learning by doing, community-based participation, and collective artistic practice.

The event is co-organized by Hanna Musiol and Carl Rosenkilde Faurby with the support of the Department of Language and Literature, Environmental Humanities (ISL, IKM / NTNU), the Trøndelag Centre for Contemporary Art (TSSK), and the Just Pedagogies (NTNU) project.
