On Saturday, 6 December, Trøndelag Centre for Contemporary Art invites you to Shout Out #2: “How it HEart” – a sensory clay workshop with artist Silvia Ricci.

Date: Saturday, 6 December, 16:00–18:00

Registration deadline: 3 December to formidling@samtidskunst.no

Participation is free - sign up!

Silvia Ricci is from Italy and lives and works in Trondheim, where she has her studio at Atelier Ilsvika. She works with drawing and ceramics. Her artistic practice includes relational and participatory projects and art therapy, where she explores themes such as identity, memory, and the body as a carrier of experience.

How it HEart

In “How it HEart,” Silvia focuses on process, presence, and encounters between people. The workshop builds on an art therapy methodology that combines creative processes with emotional awareness. Through the use of tactile materials—such as clay—Silvia invites participants to connect with both personal and collective memory, and together build a symbolic “container” for shared experience.

Each individual gesture becomes part of a larger whole, and the project is inspired by Gestalt theory—the idea that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. The guiding question is: “Which gesture or memory gives you a sense of connection and belonging—something that ties you to others?”

Take a break from December stress and join a relaxing and sensory workshop with Silvia.

No artistic experience is required. Comfortable clothing is recommended, as the workshop involves movement and hands-on work with various materials.

Participation is free, but places are limited—send your registration to formidling@samtidskunst.no

Silvia Ricci (b. 1990, Italy) holds a degree in fine arts from Accademia di Belle Arti L’Aquila in Italy, and has further training in art therapy from Arti Terapie Emilia Romagna in Bologna, Italy. Silvia is also behind the long-running drawing project Urban Sketchers Trondheim.
