Deputy Mayor Erling Moe (Venstre) will deliver the opening speech, setting the tone for the festival. This also marks the launch of Trondheim Open's traditional Art Market, where you can explore a wide selection of artworks from local artists.
Art Market 2024
The Art Market is a sales exhibition featuring nearly 150 artworks from the festival’s artists, all in one location. The exhibition includes paintings, drawings, sculptures, textile art, and much more. The selection showcases a unique range of local artists based in Trondheim, from new students to established names.
The Art Market is the festival's most visited event and a fantastic place to connect with the local art scene—and purchase a piece of art. If you see something you like, you can easily find out who the artist is and where their studio is located. Perhaps you’ll want to visit them during the festival's open studio days?
You will always find someone to chat with, and you can grab a festival catalog or a cup of coffee. On Saturdays and Sundays, Jacobsen & Svart will have a pop-up coffee bar at TSSK. Here, you can sit down, enjoy your coffee, and ponder where all these artists are based.
The Art Market will be open every day. Welcome!
Opening Hours:
Monday – Friday: 12 PM - 5 PM
Saturday - Sunday: 12 PM - 4 PM
Trondheim Open is held every other year, offering a glimpse into the work of regional artists. Its mission is to showcase and communicate professional artistic activities in Trondheim and Trøndelag to a diverse audience. The festival is organized by the unions Trøndelag Bildende Kunstnere (TBK) and Norske Kunsthåndverkere Midt-Norge (NKM). The project leader and managing director for Trondheim Open is the artist Inga Skålnes.
