"Baklengs inn i okularet" by Bakketun & Norum is a multi-dimensional installation made specifically for this exhibition space, consisting of paintings and audio, crystallized chemicals, video and optical elements.

Their work can be perceived as kaleidoscopic; it is multi-faceted and operates in several different time frames and spaces at the same time. The works may zoom in on the smallest of details, while simultaneously referring to universal perspectives.

In their work, artists Andrea Bakketun and Christian Tony Norum explore their surroundings in an intuitive way. They examine the architectural and physical qualities of a place, as well as the reminiscence - subtle memories - of objects, and may make use of a personal story or historical event in their art. The exhibition evokes several layers of mental images; portals for that which is underlying and the subconscious, where the viewer is responsible for creating his or her own narrative.

Bakketun & Norum have, in addition to their own, individual practices, worked as an artist duo since 2012. Their collaboration forms a third expression, where two comprehensive artistic practices come together and collide.

Andrea Bakketun (born 1983, Trondheim) holds a BA Fine Arts from Gerrit Rietveld Academie, Amsterdam (2008) and MA from the Academy of Fine Arts in Oslo (2013). Bakketun has shown solo exhibitions at Kunstnerforbundet, Oslo; NoPlace, Oslo; Kunsthaus Essen, Essen; and II Stile, Berlin. Her works have also been shown in a number of group exhibitions in Norway and abroad. In 2012, Bakketun initiated and produced, along with Silje L. Haaland, the project Five thousand generation of birds, an exhibition on the Fitjar Islands just outside Bergen, where 16 international artists were invited to work and exhibit each on their own islets.

Christian Tony Norum (born 1980, Oslo) holds a BA and MA from the Oslo Academy of Fine Arts (2012). Norum has exhibited comprehensively nationally and internationally. Norum also has a curatorial practice and has done several extensive exhibitions, including Chanting all clamoring, chirping (Chiroptera), blaring elevator stops. Dings at the Munch Museum, which involved 50 artists. Norum's work is represented in the National Museum's collection, Storebrands Kunstsamling and DNB's art collection. He is represented by Gallery K, Oslo.
