Trøndelag Centre for Contemporary Art presents the exhibition "Å bare være til" by artist and ceramicist Andrea Scholze.

At the opening on October 7, there will be an artist talk between Scholze and art critic Line Ulekleiv.

Andrea Scholze not only hand-models sculptures in ceramics, she is also increasingly exploring other materials and expressions that allow her to work in significantly larger formats and installations. "Å bare være til" is her first major solo exhibition in Trondheim with sculptures in materials such as ceramics and building foam, plant reliefs in steel, and paintings on heat-reflecting life blankets with references to graffiti.

Andrea Scholze is interested in existential and evolutionary themes, where her figures reflect us and how we once lived in one with a wild, originally primitive nature. Elements of biology and human moods are inserted into the world of animals, where monkey-like sculptures, frogs, and wolves all have a roughly modeled shape, whether they are expressed in an overwhelming or subversive format. The exhibition reflects on how we as modern humans’ distance ourselves to a greater extent from nature, and then experience a strong emotional longing for it.

Art critic Line Ulekleiv has written the text "Ape med speil" for the exhibition.

Andrea Scholze (b. 1988, Oslo) has a Master of Fine Arts from the Oslo National Academy of Arts. She has received support for this exhibition from the Arts Council Norway.
Deltatt i utstillinger som Høstutstillingen, Årsutstillingen, TRESOR i Basel og Patrick Parrish Gallery, New York. Hun er innkjøpt av bla. KODE, Bergen og Nordenfjeldske Kunstindustrimuseum. Hun er nylig omtalt i boken «NORSK DESIGN OG KUNSTHÅNDVERK A TIL Å» av Mats Linder, samt er én av fire norske kunstnere i det treårige prosjektet «Nytt nordisk porselensforum» som vil avholde en rekke utstillinger på museer i Norden.

Møt Andrea Scholze i en kort film om hennes utstilling "Å bare være til" hos Trøndelag senter for samtidskunst 07.10 - 07.11, 2021. Filmen er laget av Tobias Liljedahl og produsert av Trøndelag senter for samtidskunst med støtte fra Sparebankstiftelsen SMN.

Noen bilder fra fra to-dagers kunstverksted på Trøndelag senter for samtidskunst i høstferien, som ble ledet av kunstner Guri Simone Øverås. Her fikk barn i alderen 9 - 12 år mulighet til å jobbe med ulike kunstuttrykk med fokus på skulptur; fra å modellere egne skulpturer med hendene i leire, til å utforske egenskapene til byggskum, male og å kle seg ut som en skulptur. Siste dagen ble avsluttet med å ha piknik i utstillingen blant skulpturene.
