Trøndelag Centre for Contemporary Art invites artists residing and working in Norway to apply for exhibition in 2025 - 2026.

Trøndelag Center for Contemporary Art (TSSK) annually presents seven high-quality exhibitions in one of the region's finest exhibitions space, centrally located in Trondheim.

The exhibition program primarily relies on Open Call with submissions from visual artists and artisans. Educational events are an integral part of the outreach efforts for each exhibition project and are developed in dialogue with our exhibitors.

For the exhibition period 2025-2026, we invite artists living and working in Norway to apply with exhibition projects that generate engagement. Especially, we encourage artists that are passionate about topics such as sustainability, craft traditions, rituals, and rural lifestyles to apply. We also encourage artists to apply with projects about subjects that deeply resonate with the artist’s interest but have not yet been embraced by the spirit of the times.

To provide the best conditions for the artist, solo exhibitions will be given priority, but this does not exclude other exhibition formats. The programming is carried out by Kunstfaglig råd, consisting of artists Toril Redalen and Wendimagegn Belete, along with Director Carl Martin Rosenkilde Faurby.

About the space

The exhibition space at TSSK covers approximately 140 square meters on street level and features a large glass facade facing Fjordgata. The front part of the space has a ceiling height of approximately 5 meters, while the innermost section measures around 2.5 meters up to the ceiling. In the basement, a project room has been set up for the presentation of sound and video works, while the second floor is designed for public events, in combination with offices and meeting rooms.

TSSK offers a total of NOK 30,000 per exhibition (honorar, vederlag og produksjonsmidler).

Artists will receive compensation for presentations or Artist Talk, as well as travel and accommodations in connection with these. Technical installation assistance will be hired and covered by TSSK, subject to agreement with the artist. Please note that there is a relatively short installation period between exhibition periods (7-8 days).

Application Deadline: November 5, 2023, at 11:59 PM.

Application Requirements:

• A project description (max. 1 A4 page)

• Portfolio with images of 5-10 works or links to videos

• CV

These should be submitted as a single PDF file (maximum 10 MB in total) and sent via email to post@samtidskunst.no.

Responses to applications will be sent out in mid February 2024.

Qualified applicants are encouraged to apply, regardless of cultural background, age, or ability. Artists residing and working in the region are encouraged to apply.
