Tre-dagers kunstverksted for barn i sommerferien, 24. -
26-
juni 2026.
At the beginning of the summer holidays, from 24–26 June, the Trøndelag Centre for Contemporary Art hosted a three-day art workshop for children aged 11–14.
This year, we collaborated with artists Håkon Karlsen and Knut Eirik Molvik, who led the workshops together with the Centre's art educator, Amalie Marie Selvik.
Over the course of the three days, we held a variety of art workshops, both indoors in the Trøndelag Centre for Contemporary Art's education space and outdoors at Ladehammeren and Korsvika Beach on Lade. The children explored traditional artistic techniques in combination with raw materials collected from nature.

The workshops were inspired by the exhibition «I hånda, hodet og hjertet» by KVAE & BARK, where food and nature become part of the artwork. The artist duo works with foraging wild plants, natural ingredients and materials from forests, shorelines and the surrounding landscape, exploring how we can become more attuned to our environment through our senses.
Using natural materials gathered outdoors, we explored a range of artistic techniques, including textile collage, pastel drawing, watercolour painting, sculpture and clay.
The children designed and decorated their own "foraging bags with many pockets," and together we lit a fire on the beach to bake stick bread flavoured with wild edible plants, herbs and seaweed, allowing us to explore nature through taste and smell. Through art, food and foraging, the workshop encouraged curiosity, creativity and new ways of connecting with the natural environment.
Above all, the workshop offered three social and creative days where the children had the opportunity to make art alongside experienced professional artists.
The workshop was free of charge and supported by the Municipality of Trondheim.
The art workshop was part of the Municipality of Trondheim's Summer Holiday Programme 2026.
