About TSSK
Trøndelag Senter for Samtidskunst (Trøndelag Centre for Contemporary Art , TSSK for short) is a regional artist-run institution which
aims at presenting and disemminating visual art and craft. TSSK is a joint
venture involving the primary organizations Trøndelag Bildende Kunstnere
(Visual Artists of Trøndelag, or TBK) and Norske Kunsthåndverkere Midt-Norge
(Norwegian Art and Crafts of Mid-Norway, or NKM). The Centre has Trøndelag as
its primary target area and shall present a wide range of artistic expression with
an emphasis on innovative and experimental art. The Centre is part of a
national network for art disemminating directed by artists.
Trøndelag Centre for Contempory Art is situated in the
centre of Trondheim. Using Trondheim Sentralbanestasjon (the railway station)
as a point of departure, walk across the railway station bridge toward the
centre of town and you will find us on your left hand side, in Fjordgata 11.
The building where we lease our premises is called the “Bachke” building, a
brown construction designed by the architect Herman Krag and erected in
1972/73. Our gallery is situated on the ground floor and has large windows
facing the Fjordgata street, making our exhibitions highly visible both during
the day and at night. The administration is to be found on the first floor.
